Well , an outdoor do supporting Aerosmith , the Stones , and wait for it , few seconds tension , and Peter Frampton !!! I’m sure it was them lot anyway. We decided to use the Sat nav (outrageous really , I mean , I still play vinyl). Gone half a mile and I’ve forgotten the post code to configure the Sat nav , knew they were rubbish , quick call to Matt and Si , oh , they are in the pub already !! Anyway , we got there via some village , it took about 45 minutes to break through security and make them believe I was manager/roadie , bumped into Steve and his ‘hangers on’ , parked up behind the impressive stage , got well excited about Tyler/Jagger and Frampton then we were told the Hogg were playing in the beer tent , gutted , Charl tried her best to cover up her disappointment and went straight for a Fosters !! I offered to buy her a Bike fest vest and she nearly fainted (shouldn’t spoil kids you know) !! We settled in and met up with Si and Matt as they tried to break security. So we are all in , free bag of beer as payment , I’m sure the others got 30 grand !!! Now , I’m sitting with 9 brothers and sisters and am the only one not drinking ! Hell , this hasn’t happened for over 30 years !! Bit of chat with some very nice people with ‘Stone’ tees on who are following the Hogg in the beer tent . Me and Trudy nip off for a walk and leave the others in the back stage arena , we arrive back a little sooner than planned and Charl does a circus juggle with a dodgy roll-up and sends it Matt’s way , he catches it perfectly (as if it was his anyway) Charl’s face is a picture , so is Si’s , Matt is a little cooler. What should I do , I wasn’t sure who to rear up to so didn’t even bother (weak) , I’ll ponder over it !!!!! Next its tattoo time , Matt has a gay one , Charl has a lesbo one and Si has a dead ‘ard one on his chest !! Its strange really , I’m sure some of the bands are taking this seriously !! I’ll tell you what , if there’s an award for which band drunk the most the Hogg have got it already !!! Well , I think we had forgotten but there is a performance to do , the beer tent ain’t exactly over crowded as the Hogg hit the stage but it gets fuller as the hour passes. Can’t decide whether Si looks cool bare chested with ‘ard tatt or not but it was funny. There was the odd mistake , Charl juggled again but at least this time it was a drum stick !! Si’s solo’s were all new !! Matt seemed to sing in French at times , god there was only Dave and Steve who knew what day it was !!! Off they came , Si must be good , I thought he was below par but he still took the plaudits. Having packed away the kit Trudy said she was cold so I went of to fetch her cardy (well , more like a sleeping bag) out of the car , returned backstage and no sign of anyone , searched for 10 minutes and there she is , arm in bloody arm with Matt , donning a bike fest vest , like Danny and Sandy , so much for being cold then , I had a mini spat , chucked the cardy in the car and went for a walk !!!! It was getting late and Si was awesome , he drank a bit and spilt a bit , drank a bit and spilt a bit. We all watched Rainbow Rising (took me back) and then repped the beer tent !! Charl and Si went missing and I wanted to go home , even with mobiles we couldn’t organise a pi*s up , well perhaps we could !!!!!!! Most of us didn’t bother with the Levellers , well who would after Frampton (do you , you !!). All in all a mad day , and by the way , at 02:00 Si txt Charl to say he had got his tent up finally and it was the most difficult thing he had ever done !!! Hey , the Roebuck is only 15 hours away , bring on the Abbot , its my turn !!!!!!
