'The Queens'

Queens Buxton , 21st party. Here we go then , I've written this once before but it got lost in the bowels of the tinterweb !!! So back at Buxton so soon , hand picked for a 21st party. Quite like this place , some how the sound is always great here. Anyway , I'm tattered and driving (even though Trudy would have people believe I never drive) !!! I decide to go for a walk around Buxton as I'm not feeling overly sociable , lovely town , nice walk , just heading past the Eagle and I can hear a roar , stuck my nose up to the window for a butchers and theres a young lady in her bra and pants being cheering on by the lads , off comes the bra and out come the butties (sorry Kim) , outragous , in twee old Buxton !! I shuffle off quickly before I'm spotted being pervy. Well , fine start to the night.Back to the Queens , some commotion about roadies , groupies , fans etc , I mean , thats dozens of us have been asked to vacate the party area so the party goers can get in , fair enough I guess but some of them don't exactly look like they are up for a riot !! So , I'm driving , can't see the band properly and theres 5 hours to go !! Oh . First set I can half see the band while making 1 pint of guiness last for an hour. Kim and Ian don't look best pleased at the eviction , in fact thats a bleeding understatment if I ever made one !!!!!!!!!! Half time I thought to hell with it , I snaffoed (not in the dictionary I know but it means to take something that you perhaps shouldn't) some snap off the buffet , got another pint in and hit the party area for the second set. How cool was I ? 2 pint dancing , 6 foot 4 with a Chief tee-shirt on , surrounded by 20 year old girls LOL . The Polish lad won the best dancer though by far , straight through to the midlands final !!! The lady who fell off the table is now doing the splits across one of the monitors (Matt reaches for a wet wipe) !!!!! Its quite a night. A little run of modern stuff (hey , it is 'Classic rock n blues to modern day covers you know) really gets the crowd going , it feels a little 76 clubby in here (famous famous club in Burton years ago , I do have a live Sex Pistols album recorded from there , I could bore you with the details) ??? By the way , Si is hammered !!! He is standing on a stool , no , he's off that and know got his leg up on a table , this was a shy lad last year when I met him , he is now a legend !!Think it was 1 o'clock when the band were called off , great night , well played the 'Hogg . I did have one of my dreams that night , a little strange , Si reared up at me while packing the kit away , I couldn't believe it , looked at Matt to see if I was imagining things and he had spotted it as well , god , I haven't been in a ruck for years , hammered Si v sober Rog , could have been interesting , it blew over though. Never a dull moment at a 'Hogg gig !! Try one folks !!!!
