Rolleston Club - Burton - Feb 7th 2008

Boss Hogg live - Rolleston Club
After Matts 2 month struggle with a tickly cough the band are back !! Soooo exited. Have they been forgotten though , once a household name in the music establishments of Burton , is 2 months off too long , lets face it the world doesn't stand still for anybody ?!?! With this in mind me and Charl took on a major marketing operation , my god , you couldn't go anywhere in Stretton or Rolleston without seeing the 5 mug shots of the band in their various poses , it was almost like the wild west with the wanted posters up. Ticketmaster were drafted in to deal with the demand , the highways agency were involved as we all know the routes into Rolleston aren't the best for a huge event like this, Eventresourses drafted in half their staff and what.......its ten past nine and there are 10 people in the Club?!?! What could have happened for goodness sake ? Has a Jumbo come down on Main street ? Were Ticketmasters lines blocked due the the demand (I knew I shouldn't have trusted them) ? Can't use firework night as an excuse this time. X factors finished , Strictly is finished. Guess there will be a rush about half nine , hope the Eventresources people can cope !! Well , there was a mad rush at half nine , at least another 50 people arrived including Pete Kiloran , accomplished drummer of Burlesque fame , obviously here to check out our Charls skills. So the show went on , interval hits so quick , open the box , ain't clubland great , Phoenix nights eat your heart out , open the box rules ok !!! The band are back on , Rock 'n' roll at its very very best , an 80's style 12 inch remix of 'Dead or alive' , actually , it was as if some of the band did die half way through , what happen , was somebody sopposed to get on stage and tap dance or something when it all went quiet ?? Great version of 20th century boy , just love that Glam stuff. Now the problems started for me , I had heard a rumour that Summer of '69 had been dropped , you know , the one I asked them to do , its encore time and theres no sign of it so I just happened to shout '69 really loud , and old women behind me said I was being rude and hit me over the head with a stool and I ran into a fit of tourettes....I couldn't stop shouting '69 , the Eventresources people couldn't move me , Matt could no longer ignore me so they played it. I came round on my back on the dance floor surrounded by first aiders , the band had gone , Phyliss was waiting to lock up and all I could say was '69 '69 '69 '69 , Andy said , go home , they've played the dammed thing !!!!!! Chaps and Charl , get it on the set list for the Roebuck please or else we will have a repeat and it will become embarrassing.................
