The 'Hogg play the Wyggy.
So the 'Hogg get to play the Wyggy for the first time. Such hallowed turf , memories of 'Glass house' (where are they now ?) , 'Roger the Dog' and even Alans 'Slider' (oh dear , that guitar intro (several attempts) to Black magic women described by Al as the most embarrasing moment in his music career!!!). The old comedy PA setup is now becoming slick (well nearly , the ladies behind the bar did become sound technicians for a few minutes,'turn it down'). The crowd is good (even with the re-opening of the Beacon) and the Hogg go on for the first set while I am having an issue with the beer , just can't settle , Spitfire? Peddy? Bass? Newcastle brown ? Settled for all of them !!! Mean while the band are going down well , Si strutting his stuff in his usual manner that gets the ladies going , (do I see more interest than usual from someone behind the bar tonight) Si .......??? The interval arrives in no time , Al does a quick tweak on Charls Snare (well , I'd had it to bits !!!!). Shirley offers dates for 2009 (even one for January , set aside for her favorites) !!! Second set is a stormer , so many songs up their sleeve that we don't get repeats anymore !! Summer of '69 is a real winner (I would say that) and it ain't cheesy Matt ! Well played Charl/Dave(nice pic of you asleep)/Matt/Si/Steve (alphabetical order). Roll on Barton and 'X Factor' auditions for backing vocals , best of luck Dave/Steve and I'll do my best Simon Cowell impression !!!! Rock on.....
