Nov 8th 2008 The Hogg play Rolleston club

What a daunting task for the band !! The Mosley coat of arms hangs proudly and one can almost feel the history in the air !! More recently during the '70's and 80's this place was packed to the rafters , 'Fortunes plus' , Gay Gordon , Barn dances , a lot to live up to ???? A shame that times have changed , the crowd is a little low on numbers (firework night not helping I'm sure).During the first half there was polite applause for the band , some of Charls mates turned up to bolster the crowd and I was having a major problem keeping up with Doug on the drinking stakes , my god , they don't touch the sides and he pulled the ultimate insult on me and got an inbetweenie while waiting for me to catch up !!!
So to the interval , it appears the Bingo has been dropped , whats going on ?? A couple of hints were dropped to ignore the 'noise pollution committee' and turn it up (not quite to 11 though). Instantly kickin' more !! Now the nervous wait , will some one get up and dance ? Yes , half way through the second set we have 2 on the floor , what now , Trudy and her Mum are up there as well, this will get out of hand !! After a little encouragement more people hit the floor , Dougs up there , the kids are up there , I stumble on , Charls mates are on , I'm sure I saw Trudy drag people from the lounge and the Spread accross the road and the chineese whispers got as far as the Jinnie , well , I've seen nothing like it before , I swear there was 400 people on that dance floor for the many encores , Matt modelling a strange hat and taking requests , almost the conductor of the orchestra !!! Was that a Townsend windmill from Si (yes , don't get fooled again one day , please). What a night in the end , forget Glastonbry , forget Donnington , forget Robbie at Knebworth , forget the Who at Charlton Athletic , forget Hendrix at the Isle of Wight , forget Queen at live aid , forget the Jam at Bingley hall or even Secret affair at Torquay town hall , on Saturday November the 8th 2008 at Rolleston Club Rock 'n' Roll changed !!!!
